Taupo SPCA believes educating the public on all aspects of animal welfare in the greater Taupo district is vitally important.
We are committed to teaching young people to respect all living creatures and we offer a range of programs - including the “One of the Family” program and ‘de-sex your pet’ message as part of Responsible Pet Ownership.
We have a volunteer Education Officer who conducts the school and group visits. School and other children’s groups often visit our Animal Centre, and we also present to many adult groups.
Our inspector works with the local farming community to improve animal husbandry practices and on a national level, we participate in campaigns on animal welfare issues.
